PostProductionPro.com Team and HPA to Aid Post Production Professionals

Post industry social media/employment site and leading Post industry trade group form alliance to aid members and promote common interests.

HOLLYWOOD— PostProductionPro.com, a social media web portal that provides job listings as well as other services for Post Production professionals, and The Hollywood Post Alliance® (HPA), the leading trade organization for the Post Production industry, have formed a strategic alliance to provide their respective memberships with greater access to the other’s benefits and services.

HPA members will have direct access to job listings and other resources available on the PostProductionPro.com website. PostProductionPro.com members will be able to take part in certain networking, educational and social events sponsored by the HPA. The two groups also plan to develop joint events and initiatives to aid members and promote the Post Production industry.

"PostProductionPro.com has, in a very short time, become a valuable resource within our post production industry,” said HPA president Leon Silverman. “It provides not only valuable connections between those who are looking for opportunities, but it also helps to create a greater sense of community, which is key to our HPA mission. We are looking forward to helping our members have greater visibility to employment opportunities and at the same time allow users of PostProductionPro.com members to benefit through access to our HPA-sponsored educational and networking activities. It’s a huge win for everyone.”

“Our two organizations share many of the same members and goals,” added Belinda Merritt, cofounder, with Herb Dow A.C.E., of PostProductionPro.com. “We see many opportunities for our two organizations to work cooperatively for the benefit of our members and for the industry as a whole.”

PostProductionPro.com, which launched earlier this year, serves as a virtual meeting place for producers, editors, assistant editors, visual effects artists and many other Post Production professionals. Members have access to a database of current job listings and can exchange job referrals and other information with fellow members. Members also have their own pages where they can post resumes and links to their IMDB pages, Facebook pages and other social media websites. They can also post pictures, learn about Post Production events, and start or join specialized groups.

The Hollywood Post Alliance is a trade association whose members include companies and individuals involved in Post Production services for film, television and broadcast. The organization hosts numerous events each year, including the HPA Tech Retreat and the HPA Awards, that provide members with opportunities to network and share information in a supportive, collegial environment.

Merritt notes that in a tight employment market, participating in industry organizations such as PostProductionPro.com and the Hollywood Post Alliance can be critical to a successful job search. “Employers with job openings receive hundreds of resumes, making it hard to stand out,” she said. “Often what makes the difference is face to face communications. That is why it is so important to take part in networking activities offered by groups like ours.”
